Summer Must-Haves: Beauty

Today's post is about my top 3 must have beauty products. I have a mascara, a cream blush (any girl's must have summer product!), and a lip balm. So, let's get started! :)

1. NYC  Sky Rise Lengthening Mascara

This mascara is a miracle worker! It noticeably lengthens your lashes and adds the illusion of more lashes. Bonus: It's from the drugstore and costs only about $2. Score!

2. Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Rose Petal

I love this cream blush, especially applying it with a brush to get it's maximum pigmentation. Bonus: It comes in a lot of fun colors that flatter any skin tone!

3. Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in Pink Punch

I love this lip balm on a summer day when your lips are so chapped! But, this balm is different because of it's pretty hint of color it has. Bonus: It smells so yummy and fruity!

What are your summer beauty must-haves?

LookBook: Without Tess

Todays book is Without Tess by Marcella Pixley. Enjoy my summary and review of the book!

Summary: Without Tess is about a girl named Lizzie and her life with her older delusional sister Tess back when they were kids. It switches from Lizzie's memories of her and Tess's adventures together to present time, where Lizzie still struggles with Tess's death six years ago. it's defiantly a physiologic type of book that is unlike anything I've ever read.

Review; This book is defiantly a unique read. At some times, it's overly descriptive observations, for me, were a bit rough to get through. Overall, this book always kept me interested and I recommend it.

Rating: 4 stars out of 5

Listening Loves

Today's post is all about my top 5 favorite songs of the moment.

1. Everybody Talks, Neon Trees
This song is very fun and upbeat. It's got catchy lyrics and a fun toon. Neon Trees has a rock-pop sound that you can dance too. Rating: 4.7 out of 5

2. 1983, Neon Trees
Another Neon Trees song, but their music is just so much fun! This song, again, has a catchy beat and lyrics. But, I do like this song more than Everybody Talks. Rating: 4.9 out of 5

3. Good Girl, Carrie Underwood
I am a big fan of Carrie and this new single really rocked. It's a faster beat but still slightly country. It's lyrics are a lot of fun as well. Rating: 5 out of 5

4. Call Me Maybe, Carly Ray Jepsen
Call Me Maybe is so fun and poppy. It's a lot of fun to listen to and a song that you'll want to sing again and again. Rating: 4.5 out of 5

5. My last favorite isn't actually a song, but it's still a music favorite. It would be Pandora. I love Pandora for listening and discovering new types of music. My favorite station at the moment is the Carly Rae Jepsen station. Check it out!

Nail News: Summer Favorites

Today I'm back with another Nail News all about my favorite summer nail polishes. I have colors ranging from neons to pastels, so there's a color for everyone! Also, there are many dupes of each polish to fit each persons own necessities. Let's get started!

This first polish is called Flip Flop Fantasy by China Glaze. It's a great, bold coral color. I love this color as a pop of color with a neutral outfit. The coral shade is also the bold color of the season.

This next polish is a really fun metallic shade called Celeb City from Sally Hansen. This color works great as a solo color or an accent nail. It's also the perfect pairing to a bold pink top. It also looks fabulous in the sun because of all the shimmers in the color. It's also budget-friendly.

This next color, also by China Glaze, is called Purple panic. it's a beautiful fuchsia color that really stands out against summer sun-kissed skin. It also has hints of blue to create a unique look. To make this polish really pop, wear it with gray or silver jewelry.

This next color is an Essie polish called Turquoise & Caicos. It's such a pretty turquoise color that's just a classic summer/spring color. it would look so vibrant against earthy fabrics and colors.

The last polish is from Essie once more and it's called Nice is nice. it's a beautiful pastel lilac color. It's such a pretty spring that can transition into the summer months as well. I think it would look amazing paired with more contrasting colors, like blue and yellow to create an unique look.

Those are my favorite summer polishes! Tell me yours in the comments!

LookBooks- Monument 14

This is my first book review, which I call LookBooks. This week's book is Monument 14, by Emmy Laybourne. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's defiantly action-packed with plenty of twists and turns.

Summary:
High-schooler, Dean, is in for a wild ride, when, on a normal day in the year 2024, a giant hail storm hits his small Colorado town. Luckily, him and 5 other high-schoolers, 2 middle school students, and 6 little kids find shelter-in a large chain superstore. After other catastrophes  hit the town, like an earthquake and a hazardous chemical spill, the kids must band together, no matter what happens.

Thoughts:
This book was most defiantly a page turner. It was full of action and unbelievable circumstances that we are not used to. The kids go through many different obstacles inside their own little world, from picking a "team leader" to helping each other through personal challenges. This book will most likely leave you with a mixture of happiness, unbelievability, and hope.

Rating:
    4 1/2 stars

Would you read Monument 14?

Update!!

Hey everyone! Long time no see, huh? Well, for the last few months or so,  I've taken a break from the blog. It can sometimes be difficult to get post ideas and keep a steady schedule. But, since I'm out of school, I've decided on an easy commitment to both my blog and my YouTube channel, Purplepower32. I will be uploading a video every Wednesday before 6:00 p.m Central time. For my blog, I will be creating a post 3 times a week. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, before 6:30 p.m Central time. Of course, i do have things going on n my life, so, at some points, I won't be able to get a video or blog post(s) up, but I will warn you on either a post or video. I think this is an easy way to keep up with both my blog and videos. Since I am human, I might forget one week. I forget things pretty easily, so I will try to remind myself throughout the week. But, if I forget one day without warning, it's probably because I forgot, so don't freak out! And, since one of my problems is getting post ideas, I would greatly appreciate it if you could leave me some suggestions you would like to see in the comments. Thanks everyone!!

See you on Friday! xoxo- elizabeth
